In this lesson, we have explained how to determine if equations are Linear or Nonlinear.

So, this lesson tutorial shows a brief explanation of how to distinguish between Linear and Nonlinear equations. So, this is like a review for the Pre-calculus or Algebra course. It contains plenty of examples and practice problems.

❖ It is essential in math to know the difference between Linear and Non-Linear equations because a linear equation means just we are only talking about a line.

Hence, Linear means something related to a line. All the Linear equations are used to construct a line.

A Non-Linear equation is such which does not form a straight line. It looks like a curve in a graph and has a variable slope value.

❖ To illustrate this more:

Linear Equations

It forms a straight line or represents the equation for the straight line.

Non-Linear Equations

It does not form a straight line but forms a curve.
